A new Beginning

A New Beginning with CAMP MY WAY!

Up until this summer I had been a coach for many years, a public speaker, an art teacher, started and ran a dogsled guiding company, a painting foreman, photography instructor, so many incredible means of sharing and teaching my passions and yet, when it came to paddling, something I have done since birth, nothing. I am self-taught, with no certifications so I could never land anything more than being brought up as the unofficial guide for projects. With now some hundreds of days on paddling expeditions, often more than 300 days a year on the water training and exploring solo. This summer I was brought on as Lead Guide to the most incredible of organizations. @campmyway put full trust in my abilities on and off the water in keeping each camper and facilitator safe and educated. From sharing knowledge of nature and wildlife, to the many canoe strokes that made it possible for the first time paddlers to reach camp quickly and efficiently. Most of all, though, we shared passion and our love for being, just being, as simple as that. Some found love on the water, others in the woods or on mountains, we all found a calling and a connection to a deeper more natural part of ourselves. And that is why my heart is overwhelmed at the opportunity to share and teach something I am truly passionate doing. “If a man is to shed the light of the sun upon other men, he must first of all have it within himself.” #romainrolland
